Today is our 1 Year Anniversary!



Today is the 1 year anniversary of Local Online Business Development, LLC. and JEDI WEB SERVICES. Over the past year I have put a lot of hard work and love in to both businesses as well as the many other businesses across the nation that I have proudly taken on as my personal clients. I'm so thankful for ALL my clients and am grateful to have been, and will continue to be, such a positive influence in the growth of each of their business ventures, which I can only imagine they love just as much as I love my own. Local Online Business Development, LLC. and JEDI WEB SERVICES, provides me with some of the greatest of joys of my life and it would not be possible without the help and support of my Incredible Team, Staff, Partners, and of course our Clients.
 
I'm very proud of all we have accomplished during our first year of business. It hasn't been easy but it certainly has been rewarding. ...and Blog some more. Did I say Blog? hehe, Seriously though, it's like the movie "Field of Dreams", remember the saying? "If you build it, they will come." Well, in this case, "if you blog it, they will read... follow, become fans and eventually Clients. It might take some time and some patients but keep at it steady and as long as the information you provide is truly valuable it would be wasted time. Especially to your readers.



PS.) On a side note I knowingly admit that I haven't been following my own advise as often as I should and to my followers, fans, and clients I apologize. As the Owner and Operator of two successful Companies, and currently representing many others I simply find it hard to make time but it is my promise to you that I will work on this some more and make more time to share my knowledge.

Should I spend money on Pay Per Click or is there something better?

Here is why you shouldn't waste your money on Pay Per Click (PPC)...

Pay Per Click is an online marketing medium that myself and the team at Jedi Web Services are not believers in. PPC is the last thing that I would recommend to any of my clients. I think it is a wait of money, especially when compared to other online advertising options.

Lets look at the facts. A few years ago the Nielsen Ratings determined that Pay Per Click Advertisements only get a 16% click through rate at the most. I don't think a lot has changed within the past 5 years but if they have I'll bet the odds are even worse. Also consider that often a paper click listing will be accompanied by say 3 more options on the right hand side. So lets now divide that 16% by 4. Now you only have a 4% chance that you get a "hit" from an onlooker.

But I only pay for each hit I receive and I like that I can see detailed reports on how many impressions, hits, etc... that I get. You say?

That's nice but what you will most likely find is that not many of those seem to turn in to new business because the 4% of those that click on your ads happens to be your competition checking you out, or curious people that might be in the same industry, developers looking for new ideas and designs, maybe someone doing a report on you industry, product, or service.

Most serious online shoppers don't pay attention a Pay Per Click Ads because no one really enjoys having advertisements push in our face no matter how targeted they are. There is something subconscious that tells us that the "Organic" listings on the left hand side of the first page are the best results for ones search. We tell ourselves those must be the leaders in that industry, or best choices to buy a product or service from. This may or may not be true on the surface, at first, but perception eventually becomes reality.

Don't get me wrong. There is no "bad" place to be on Google's first page. Some places are just much much better than others.

The Google Maps for example are in my educated opinion the absolute BEST place to be for any local business owner looking to get the attention of local clientele. This also works well for nation businesses that understand the power of taking the nation by storm one territory at a time or a few territories at a time.

Getting found in a natural organic placement on the left hand side under the map is very powerful but lets compare that to a Google map listing.

Really Cool Google Map Apps!

Have you ever played Sim City? Well Google Building Maker is like Sim City in a lot of ways but it's for real! Google Building maker is a 3D model tool for adding buildings to Google Earth.

You see, as great as this feature is it had some restrictions. For instant, you were originally only able to use areal images for your model. May of us wanted crisper pictures and imagery. S.E.O. and it's Ethics. Is it possible to guaranteed SEO results?





It is true that it is tabu to guarantee Search Engine Optimization (SEO) results and if somebody does offer the guarantee of results, he or she "might" be using some "Black Hat techniques" which is not a good SEO practice and it can cause to penalization by google or other big search engines. Media advertising is dead. Forget newspapers, radio, TV and yellow pages. Are there rare exceptions? Of course. Google Apps allows you to just hold the talk button down and say something like: "Locksmiths in Las Vegas, NV" or "Sushi Restaurant in Burlingame, CA" and the result appear before your eyes in seconds. Google Stars...

Google Stars is designed to help people navigate online easier. For the large percentage of internet users that still don't know the difference between a address bar and a search bar this is most certainly for you.

Here is a short explanation of the feature from the Google Blog:
“With stars, you can simply click the star marker on any search result or map and the next time you perform a search, that item will appear in a special list right at the top of your results when relevant. That means if you star the official websites for your favorite football teams, you might see those results right at the top of your next search for [nfl]. Here’s what the new ‘Starred results’ feature looks like:”

Stars sync with Google Bookmarks and the Google Toolbar, allowing you to look at and manage them from one location. Stars will replace SearchWiki, meaning that you will no longer have those transparent arrows to reorder results. However, if you’ve used SearchWiki extensively, don’t fret: Your edits will be preserved.
